Flexibility to pursue your passions
Flexibility to pursue your passions Flexibility at Lendlease takes on different forms. Our extensive benefits are available to all employees, regardless of gender and lifestyle choices. Sarah is the Digital Procurement Lead for the Lendlease Property Business. During office hours she looks at different technology to enhance the procurement lifecycle and our supply chain, whilst outside of work she competes in Ironman triathlons around Australia and volunteers with Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation, an organisation dedicated to supporting children who live in families affected by mental illness. We talk to Sarah about how she balances her career with her passions. I truly believe without the support of Lendlease and my manager, I wouldnât be able to achieve what I am achieving today. I started with Lendlease in 2011 in Western Australia working in HR on our mining maintenance contract before relocating to Sydney in 2015 to join our Operational Excellence team in Property. Coming off a project site, and being young and ambitious, I was working 12-14hrs a day as I believed it showed dedication and commitment. For me, flexible working was for parents doing the âdrop off / pick up.â Since moving to Sydney Iâve changed my perspective entirely. With the support of my manager and senior Lendlease leadership I now work flexibly to meet my other commitments to sport and volunteering. 9 months ago I fell in love with the sport of triathlon and have since competed in 3 Ironman 70.3 events, with another 3 in the pipeline. I love a challenge and have set myself some pretty big goals over the next 12 months. An average training week consists of 18hours, training 2-3hours per day. Some days Iâll be at work at 6:45am and head off early, others I will take a longer lunch break and head across to the pool at lunchtime or out for a run. Itâs fair to say it takes up a lot of time and I feel very fortunate to be able to work flexibly to allow me to achieve my goals. I also volunteer with Kookaburra Kids, a not-for-profit who support kids living in families affected by mental illness. Watching these kids grow over the weekend camps is so rewarding, and knowing they walk away more connected and informed is truly satisfying. Lendlease introduced me to volunteering and has actively supported me in making a further contribution to the community. Throughout all this, over the past 12months, I have successfully delivered and handed off one of my projects, been lucky enough to be selected to be a part of the 2017 cohort of Lendleaseâs leadership development program Aspire, and have transitioned into a new role with some exciting projects in the pipeline. Through finding this balance and changing my mindset on âlong hours is the only way forward,â I have gained so much strength, understanding, and determination, and it is with that that I bring a better version of myself to work every single day. For me, itâs great to see leaders at Lendlease âwalking the flexibility talkâ. Itâs all very well having policies on these things, however seeing senior leaders endorse and take these opportunities also, makes me feel more comfortable in following suit. Oregon Resume Writing - Top Resume Writing Principles You Need to Know
Oregon Resume Writing - Top Resume Writing Principles You Need to KnowAfter doing a lot of research, I've found that the best way to write a resume is through freelance resume writing. I've written and edited resumes for many companies, and now I'm sharing some tips on what I believe are the top resume writing principles you should follow. One thing that you need to remember about writing resumes is that it's usually okay to give them away, unless the company you're sending yours to charges for them. If you want to make some extra money, or get something you may be able to sell them on, be sure to write a resume for free. This way you can make a little extra cash while learning how to write resumes. If they will charge for your resume, that's fine too, you will learn more than paying people when writing for free.As far as top resume writing principles go, one of the most important ones is to avoid plagiarism. This isn't just about naming yourself 'Robert Miller' in a previous resume. It's also about names and professions that sound like or include similar sounding words to your name. Once again, using common names like 'ROBERT MACKY'ROBERT MCCULLUM' are not going to make you look good. Names that sound too similar to your name or others on your resume are going to be caught by the resume checkers in the search engines, and your chances of getting a job or being hired will plummet. When you're working on your resume, it's also a good idea to be sure to put your experience and education into categories. Some jobs require only one type of training, but other jobs will demand you to prove two different types of training. While it is true that we all learn differently, that doesn't mean that we can't all share experiences.Resumes can get a little boring after a while, but try to keep them interesting, and don't be afraid to look out of the box. Make sure that you use bullet points and write in a straight forward manner. The employer is more likely to be impressed with this type of resume writing, and it will show that you can organize your thoughts and present them in a meaningful way. Finally, you need to have the talent, attitude, and creativity of a creative person. If you have been writing resumes for a long time, you've probably already accumulated a resume writing toolbox full of great skills. Just use some of those skills and put them to work on your resume, and your chances of getting a new job will skyrocket.Once you've gotten your resume together, there are some simple things you should take care of before sending it out. Make sure that all your contact information is correct, including your address, phone number, and email address. You also need to let the hiring manager know if you need any specific training for the position. If you follow these tips, your resume will get to read a lot more quickly. And in order to get a fast read on the person that you're sending it to, you need to be confident and neat. This is why I recommend that y ou take some time and prepare a resume from scratch.
